Desiccant City offers three primary types of bulk desiccants: silica gel, activated alumina, and molecular sieve.

Silica Gel Desiccant

  • Silica gel is the most commonly used bulk desiccant, ideal for air dryers; large selection of sizes
  • Moisture indicating (blue and orange) and non-indicating (white); mixes also available (white/blue)
  • Orange silica gel is acceptable for use in the European Union
  • Standard packaging in 25 kg containers
  • Commercial grades or MIL-D-3716 certified grades; beaded, powdered, or granular forms
  • Silica gel is a high purity desiccant known for its drying efficiency and water vapor capacity
  • Odorless, non-toxic, and non-corrosive with stable chemical and thermal characteristics
  • Bulk silica gel desiccant can be reactivated using proper reactivation equipment
  • Packaged silica gel (Sorb-It®) also available in bags, packets, and canisters

  • Activated alumina desiccant is primarily used for air drying and low temperature applications
  • Especially suited for compressed air drying systems
  • Standard packaging in 25 kg sacks
  • Large selection of sizes
  • Extremely effective for drying gasses
  • Activated alumina desiccant is a highly efficient adsorbent with large porosity and contact surface
  • Very stable physically and chemically, even in high temperature and corrosive environments

  • 4A (most common grade), 3A, 5A and 13X (10A); various bead mesh sizes, pellets
  • Standard packaging in 140 kg and 150 kg steel drums
  • Known for high activity and uniformity of pore size
  • Molecular Sieve is an efficient desiccant at low dew points and in higher temperature ranges
  • Moisture indicating (blue) grade available
  • Packaged molecular sieve (Tri-Sorb®) also available in bags and packets
