What is a filtered vent for a sealed container?
A free breathing apparatus similar to an immersion proof breather or breather valve, a filtered vent enables the equalization of pressures between the internal and external environments of a sealed space, while preventing contaminates to cross the barrier into one environment or the other.
How do filtered vents work in sealed containers or enclosures?
As a free breathing apparatus, a filtered vent, once installed, allows the continuous flow of air back and forth between the inside of a sealed space and the outside surrounding environment. The flow path, however, is gated with a filter element, through which air must pass. This filter element strains out contaminates down to a possible 25 microns in size.
