The Mark 7 Transformer Desiccant Breathers were introduced to meet the additional robustness necessary for the efficient protection of equipment operating under high mechanical stresses.

Fabricated from welded mild steel which is phosphated and powder coated, the Mark 7 Transformer Desiccant Breather will withstand the bump, vibration and shock parameters found in electric traction and similar vehicles.

The Mark 7 Transformer Desiccant Breathers are fitted with oil seals and are filled with desiccant.  The only maintenance action required is periodic inspection of the oil level and replacement of the spent desiccant.  The beaded desiccant has a much higher dusting resistance when compared with the standard granular material previously used.

The removable perforated screen allows easy replacement of the desiccant charge.  Experience has shown that a considerable improvement in the level of efficiency is achieved by recharging with fresh desiccant.

The Mark 7 Transformer Desiccant Breathers are supplied with three alternative body lengths.
