Rapid Prototyping

Whether you need a prototype for testing, or a prototype to simply act as a marketing aide, AGM’s production-grade rapid prototyping services are an ideal solution for those who want to conceptualize a physical model of a product before full-scale final production takes place.

If you already have a solid model created, simply send AGM a copy of the .STL file and we will get back to you with a quote. If your design is not quite ready to be prototyped, AGM offers a custom engineering service to assist with any facet of the design phase or with formatting your design for use with the 3D printer.

Once you move beyond the prototyping stage, AGM can also help with the final production run of your product. What’s more, AGM will credit the cost of the rapid prototyping parts against your first order for the production parts. You can find more about our machine shop, manufacturing, and product testing services here!

Rapid Prototyping Capabilities:

Fortus 400mc: Stratasys' advanced FDM technology is the only professional 3D printing technology that uses production-grade thermoplastics.

The Fortus 400mc 3D production system produces accurate, durable, and repeatable 3D parts. Building in ten thermoplastic materials, the 400mc provides parts which can endure exposure to heat, chemicals, humid or dry environments, and mechanical stress.

Materials:

• PC-ABS for the highest impact strength, plus the mechanical properties and heat resistance of PC and the surface appeal of ABS.
• Additional materials may become available in the future.

Accuracy:

±0.127 mm (±0.005 in) or ±.0015 mm/mm (±.0015 in/in), whichever is greater.  Accuracy varies according to geometry, part orientation and print size.

Print size (maximum dimensions):

355 x 254 x 254 mm (14 x 10 x 10 in).

Benefits of Rapid Prototyping:

• Immediate availability of a conceptualized physical model.
• Design optimization.
• Quick problem identification in the models during the development phase.
• Cost reduction.
• Product availability for marketing use.
• "One off" or small run production.
