Shipboard Mounting Systems

AGM currently offers two commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) shipboard mounting systems: the KX1125 steel track and the KX1130 aluminum track. Both mounting systems have been tested and qualified to MIL-S-901D Shock Test, Medium Weight and MIL-STD-167-1A Vibration for Shipboard, Hull-Mounted.

All GSA-approved Class 5 & Class 6 containers used aboard DOD vessels, vehicles, or aircraft must be securely mounted to avoid causing damage or injuries. However, issues may arise when using common methods to mount GSA containers aboard ships. Below is a table of these common issues and how AGM’s shipboard mounting systems can help solve them.

Problem Solution
Currently utilized mounting methods are not in compliance with MIL-S-901D (impact) and MIL-STD-167-1A (vibration) requirements for shipboard equipment. AGM’s mounting systems are fully qualified to MIL-S-901D (impact) and MIL-STD-167-1A (vibration) requirements.
DOD 5200.1-R mandates that drilling or welding containers (except for authorized repairs) will void its security integrity, so containers mounted by these methods are not authorized to contain classified materials. AGM’s mounting systems require no drilling or welding of the containers.
Incorporating the container into a structure (compartment, bulkhead, etc.) obstructs an external inspection for covert entry. AGM’s mounting systems are free-standing.
Limited space aboard ship and varying container dimensions create mounting difficulties, resulting in non-uniform hardware. AGM’s mounting systems use uniform hardware.

AGM’s shipboard mounting systems can be installed on decks constructed of steel, aluminum, fiberglass or wood. The systems can also interface with the “Flex Deck System” used aboard some U.S. Navy ships.

AGM’s shipboard mounting systems can be used to secure one to five drawer letter or legal size cabinets, as well as general purpose or map and plan cabinets. In addition, although initially developed with the purpose of restraining GSA-approved containers, AGM’s shipboard mounting systems are equally useful for restraining other large loads.
