The above Four-Way Test is a valuable creed that AGM has borrowed from Rotary International.
Everyone likes to party and AGM employees are no different. Whether it's celebrations within the company such as birthdays and hire date anniversaries, or off-site gatherings such as our annual picnic, AGM celebrates personal as well as professional achievements throughout the year.
"Our first priority should be the people who work for our company, then the customers, then the shareholders. Because if the staff is motivated, then the customers will be happy, and the shareholders will then benefit through the company's success."
AGM's Management attempts to live by a similar philosophy, since we are highly conscious of the positive effects a happy staff can provide for a company. As a consequence, AGM's Management has attempted to develop and implement a wide array of benefits, programs, policies, activities and events that are dedicated to fostering a positive work environment for all of our employees.
Participation in annual events
In an effort to instill individual pride, as well as to recognize departmental and inter-departmental teamwork, AGM offers numerous quarterly and annual awards to worthy recipients. Most of these awards include cash prizes.
"Bright Idea" Suggestion Awards - Employees are recognized for cost-cutting ideas or for coming up with improvements to existing processes throughout the company. Employees whose Bright Idea suggestions are implemented are awarded for their ground-breaking ideas. Awardees typically receive $10 to $300, but occasionally the company will pay up to $1,000 for a really terrific idea.
"Pastry Day" Challenge - As part of a program to reward excellent work by all AGM employees, AGM offers a "Pastry Day" Challenge. Therefore, whenever AGM as a whole reaches a challenging sales and shipping figure on a given day, AGM rewards all employees with bagels, muffins, donuts, or other breakfast delights. Pastry Days occur approximately 10-12 times a year.
"Shoot the Bull" Contest - AGM's "Shoot the Bull" Contest offers all AGM employees incentives to meet or beat combined company-wide production and shipping goals. Whenever the company as a whole is successful at meeting these goals, management sets aside a pool of money to celebrate these successes with various events that have been voted on by AGM's employees.
Annual Employee Awards - AGM recognizes employees through an "Employee of the Year Award" program for employees who exhibit excellence in the workplace. Outstanding employees are nominated by AGM's salary employees and voted on by AGM's Board Members for several categories. In addition to being recognized, outstanding employees are also awarded with cash bonuses, plaques, and mementos.
